Creating a vampire

Fiction and legend describe many different ways of creating vampires. In modern myth, vampires are generally created by an exchange of blood with an existing vampire. In Eastern European folklore, vampires were the risen corpses of some evil or unfortunate person, such as a witch or someone buried on unholy ground. There are also speculations about vampires being able to give birth. Here are some experiments for attempting to create your own vampire.

• Creating a vampire from a corpse.

This is the easiest option, as it does not require locating an existing vampire and enlisting their help. The first thing to do is find someone evil or supposedly in league with the devil, such as a witch (not the Wiccan kind), an illegitimate child, or a corporate executive. Then wait for them to die (encouraging this process is not legally recommended). Bury them on unholy ground. (Try performing a satanic ritual or two there first, just to make sure it’s unholy enough.) If they rise within the next few days, you’ve done good work.

• Creating a vampire from other vampires.

This is the next safest method, as it does not involve risking human lives for the sake of an experiment. It is, however, more difficult to carry out, as you must find vampires who would be willing to try to have a baby. In many myths, vampires are believed to be infertile (and sometimes impotent, as they have no circulation to pump blood to their sex organs), but in others, vampires can breed with humans to create a dhampir (half-vampire), or with other vampires. If it works, just make sure you’re not stuck with babysitting the bloodthirsty, vampire child.

• Creating a vampire from a human.

This is the riskiest method, because if you’re wrong about how to perform the transformation, you’ll have cost a human being their life. Be sure to do your research carefully and possibly go through some animal testing phases first. The most widely accepted method for creating a vampire is through an exchange of blood: the vampire drinks from the human and then feeds their blood to the human. If the human is not on the brink of death, however, this may only give them vampire-like strength or bind them to the vampire as a servant, rather than turning them into a vampire. Another method is to have the same vampire bite a human several days in a row. Make sure you guard yourself carefully while sleeping, however, in case the vampire decides to experiment on you.
