How can Parents Control their Teenagers do Parents need to Spend Time with their Teens

The teenage years are the most crucial age in today’s world. It is most rightly said that a good teen of today becomes a better citizen of tomorrow. What does this sentence imply? It means that the world needs responsible teens, who know their rights and responsibilities. Furthermore, just knowing their responsibilities is not enough, but understanding those responsibilities and applying them whenever needed is also an essential part. However, now a days we see teenagers trapped in drugs, cigarette smoking, illiteracy, and unsafe sex. So the point is, is it necessary for the parents to scrutinize their kids? Will it be beneficial if the parents keep their teenagers under lock and key and do not allow them to get mixed up with the bad communities?

Well the answer is both Yes and NO? There are various parameters that are needed to be considered before you scrutinize teenagers. The first and foremost reason behind this is, teenagers are extremely enthusiastic about what they do and why they do. So scrutinizing them will not only create a bar between parents and teenagers but will also make things worse. Teenagers will start looking down on their parents as police and will try to hide their feeling and emotions from them. Teenagers are aggressive and the entire scheme of actually protecting them from the bad environment will be ruined. So what can parents do to protect their teens?

I would say instead of scrutinizing, parents should make a homey environment and consider their teenage kids as friends. Instead of asking questions to your kids, why not just try to be friendly with them and know their activities in a casual manner. This way your kids will be able to open up with you and you will not be judged as rude parents. Scrutinizing your kids can also result into negative behavior in the teenage age and can result into suicidal attempts. There have been cases where the parents have tried to scrutinize their kids and threaten them to know what’s happening in their lives. Because of this kind of behavior of the parents, the teenagers try to run away from their houses and get trapped in the drug gangs and various notorious acts.

This way of scrutinizing will indulge the parents losing their child. Teenage years is an age where the person does not think by mind and just reacts according to his or her anxiety levels. Some kids take an overdose of drugs and commit homicide. So it is suggested to scrutinizing your kids and playing the role of monsters in their lives at a young age is not the solution. Betterment and good results can also be obtained if the teenagers are given proper lessons about good and bad. Now a days the parents are so busy in their own lives that giving educational lessons to their kids is out of the question. The first and foremost reason that the teenagers are spoiled is due to lack of their parents in communicating with their children. Parents are suppose to sacrifice some time from their work and should sit down and explain to them the issues regarding good vs bad.

Overly scrutinizing your kids might also result in quarrel and fighting. As everyone knows, quarreling has never and will never be a solution to a problem. Understanding is and will always be needed in order to correct something and make things right.
