Happiness Life Goal
Before moving on to anything else, let us see what happiness is. I believe that happiness is simply being full of life, and satisfied with the circumstances you are in. So, according to this definition, technically, sometimes, even landing at a tough situation can actually be a cause of happiness.
Everyone living in a society has an interaction with people, and the kind of people they intermingle with has an effect on their own lifestyle; this is how we function. Keeping this fact aside, if we are a little vigilant, and choose to learn from the behavior of people around us, instead of being much influenced by them, then there are quite a lot of things to obtain in terms of awareness.
Being an undergraduate student of junior year, with just a year left before stepping into work-field, I have observed some phenomenon in people, and thankfully, I have tried to add it to my beneficial learning of people’s psychology. First of all, ultimate happiness is not gained by physical objects. Money may bring happiness; there is no denial in this, but, what being happy means is to actually keep yourself happy; to remain, to feel, and to sense happiness is actually the real way of being happy; sometimes, it is in your control, and at times, it happens by itself. And in this context, happiness, surely, is a worthy life goal.
It is as a result that you may see people with plentiful money, and handsome achievements, whining about their life, and future. They just are not be cheerful themselves. This is why one should cherish and savor the moment that they are passing, and create opportunities that bring happiness and love into their lives. Material objects do not always bring happiness, but happiness always brings itself with it!
It does not matter what a person has in terms of material or physical objects, if they are not content, it is all useless. For this reason, in my opinion, a person sleeping serenely on a rough pillow with nothing to worry about lives a happier life than a millionaire trying to snooze on his magnificent bed, with thousands of frets encircling his mind.
Once again, working hard for a brighter future and handsome pay-scales is not at all an evil effort; it is all good. But, one must not forget that this hard work is to obtain happiness, and not only empty physical objects, for the reason that satisfaction of mind and heart is ultimately the biggest prize for any person. The subsequent discussion is not meant to belittle, in any way, the importance of earning hard, and planning for future. The point, which is stressed, is that moaning, and then instilling it as a flowing habit in one’s nature is ruinous, and would not earn satisfaction, even if the person is surrounded by wondrous walls, and sparkling chandeliers. So, make happiness your life goal; do what makes you happy. Spend time with family, enjoy the wonders of nature, and be nice with everyone around you.
