Us Racial and Ethnic Groups

Humanity is but one Race. We are all 100% genetically compatible in that any male can get any female pregnant regardless of their individual heritage. What we have in common is 98% of existence.

What makes us different is 98% of our reality.

People want to belong to a select group. They do this by excluding other people. And they use obvious physical differences as the basis of separation. America is not supposed to be divided, but it is. America is made up of people and people want to be the Best.

America is segregated along broad ethnic lines generally defined by color. Americans are Black, White, Yellow, Red and Brown. The members of those broad groups come from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.

Each group is defined mostly by its common racial characteristics: skin and hair color, height, weight and eye color. Common linguistic habits also impact social grouping. While English is itself a broad language, it is so broad that certain words and phrases are often staked out like a land claim.

The largest group is the Whites of course. Most are of European origin like the pilgrims from England. Other Northern European nations sent successive waves of immigrants as their fortunes waned at home. They brought along European government, social order and education.

The next group is the Blacks. The only group of “INVOLUNTARY” immigrants in the states; most Blacks were forcibly imported to this hemisphere as slaves to work plantations for European conquerors. The brought physical strength, spiritual and fortitude. Including Caribbean Islanders and new African immigrants they brought a lyrical flair to the language that separated it from its staid European roots.

The Brown group is largely made up of a mixture of Native Americans and descendants of the Spanish Conquistadors. The vigorous Spaniards spread their language, culture, religion and seed across the globe from Puerto Rico to the Philippines and all through South America. They added more flavor to the language and created a menu distinct to the North American continent.

The Yellows are the general Asian group though they’re as divers and distinct as much of Europe. The languages, cultures and history of Asia covers a third of the globe and is mostly made up of Chinese and Japanese. America also contains many Pacific Islanders and owes much f its growth to the intensity and determination of Asian immigrants.

The Red group is made up of the remnants of the Native Americans. Much of what’s left of them are the names of everything from mountains to rivers to cities, states and towns. What we now just call “Indians” was originally made up of over 500 distinct nations with their own languages, laws and cultures. Native Americans are most responsible for teaching Civilized Anglos how to survive in the New World - much to their detriment.

Communities segregate but we have a common bond, language. The English language binds Americans one to another. Language is culture, culture is language. As immigrants learn the language of their new land they become a part of its tapestry, contributors to its greatness and heirs to its promise.

America is a great land made all the better by the contributions of its many ethnic and racial groups. They each bring unique ingredients to the Great American Melting Pot. A mighty skyscraper isn’t made only of glass, for how could it stand? It’s not made only of concrete or else how could you see?

The tallest building is a combination or steel, glass, copper, cement and plastic, and still more. The diverse elements create a mighty and beautiful product. So to do each of America’s ethic groups.
