Is there a Gender Bias in the American Educational System against Boys and Young Men - No

Education is a problem for all students.  They come to learn when they are motivated in that direction.  Motivation will come when it is exciting and fulfilling the Inner yearning for knowledge and understanding of our world and all that it entails.  Motivation will come when the school can treat students individually and not as cattle or sheep to follow each other to the slaughter.  For it is the school system that is slaughtering the motivation for education.

But how many students of high school age actually want to be there?  They are in school because their parents want them there, not because they feel motivated or excited with what is being taught.

Some are anxious to get into the business world and make their mark.  While others are merely marking time because the educational system does not serve them.

The educational system is out of touch with the reality of the business world in existence today.  They do not call on business people to help them run the schools and prepare the curriculum.  They count on old methods that are just not serving the students.  Or they go with systems not viable as teaching methods.

Since when does failure equal progress?  And yet, we push our children through the system until they arrive in university unable to read and write.  Why did we decide failure was not an option?

It isn’t boys or girls that is the problem.  The problem lies in the system.  Society sets up boys against girls.  The educational system does nothing to change that stand.

Girls can not do math.  That is the oldest saw in the tool box.  And yet, it is dragged out every time they do a test in the system to see if it is working.  The girls end up holding the rating high because no one saw them coming.

Boys are good with shop, but girls do not belong.  They just might hurt themselves.  In the reality of life how many woman live alone and manage to fix up their environment and even do the plumbing?

The system is categorizing the students and not seeking out the individuality of all students.  The system has to address the common denominator which is well below the standards any student is capable of reaching.  And yet, we pay good money after bad to have our children educated in this system.  I can only ask, Why?
