America, Land of the Free
You wake up knowing you live in the best country in the world, the good old U. S. of A.! This is the land of liberty and freedom, where people don’t hesitate to express their opinions. They gather in large crowds, especially when important issues like health care, abortion and education are at risk. They stake out territory on the internet where they write about anything and everything, unafraid to tell it like it is, regardless of who might disagree with them. America hasn’t changed much in over 200 years. It’s still the land where people defend their right to live the way they want to, even if some people wage war against them for doing so.
Typical middle class families do okay, sending their kids off to public schools, enjoying their busy and productive lives. Most middle income families have two working parents, own a home and at least one car, sometimes two depending on the work situation. There are more than a few entrepreneurs in America, and many of them have found ways to work from the comfort of their own homes.
You’ll find a lot of variety here, as families with young children make financial sacrifices to stay with their little ones. A lot of moms (and dads) start home daycares, work part time or learn to budget just about everything so they can give their kids a better start in the world. This is a land where people matter more than government and life is never a casual affair.
The rich live life large. The poor have their say, and immigrants are always welcome. That’s not to imply there’s no controversy over big business taking advantage of those not so fortunate. Nor is it to suggest that poor people don’t suffer here, or that border debates over illegal immigration aren’t real. America is not without its problems. It’s just that here we have the right to solve those issues diplomatically, voting to determine who will represent our views, and on whether or not we like the way our government handles certain situations. It’s perfectly acceptable to disagree with our leaders, as long as we respect the system that put them there and gave them the authority to implement new laws.
Nowhere else in the world will you find such vast and open lands waiting, available for work, pleasure and relaxation. Beaches, rivers and mountains offer secluded hideaways, while famous cities like San Francisco, Miami and New York provide culture and entertainment beyond anyone’s wild imagination. All of it is yours for the taking. You’re free to explore what America has to offer any time you’d like.
It is certain there are laws providing order in the United States, but they do not oppress the citizens of this country. We are all free to come and go as we please, raising our children in the manner we see fit, working at the job of our own choosing, and exercising our freedoms as outlined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. This is a country worth protecting and defending. There is no other place like it on earth.
