Fantasy creatures, large and small, if we all had an open mind, definitely would exist. It is possible, and this writer only means possible that fantasy creatures exist. They certainly existed in the time of the Bible in the form of Angels, did they not? The word fantasy defined means thus according to Answers.com: “The creative imagination; unrestrained fancy; a capricious or fantastic idea; a conceit. To imagine; visualize. This is not to say at all that the Holy Bible is an imagination or a fantasy, but many believe that there is a great deal of supernatural events that do occur. Then you can read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, as well as watch the movies and if you are a lover of fantasy, then, through your imagination, it might really bring the creatures to life.

First, having an open mind can really lead to an overactive imagination for some. Look at those who are strong believers in the theory of ufology, like this writer. If we can believe that life exists elsewhere then this earth, then it is possible that there are creatures that exist that are more fantastical than we can imagine. When it comes to the word fantasy and attaching it to creature, then maybe our imaginations are more real than fiction.

Second, there are beliefs, especially in Irish mythology, this writer believes, that the fantasy creatures of fairies and sprites exist. Why not believe so? Are fantasy creatures that are mentioned in Greek mythology non-existent? This writer believes that with the existence of imagination which can be a fictional imagination, a wild imagination, or even a “real” imagination that the creatures did exist at one time or another. With the question posed here do fantasy creatures exist, it is up to the individual and how they perceive their own imagination.

Here is a great example of a possible fantasy creature. The luna moth. Does this creature exist? Absolutely. This writer was working on an overnight job at a greasy spoon. He was cleaning a table off and something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye. It was one of the largest moths he had ever seen stuck to one of the windows of the restaurant. It was green, translucent and pretty much glowed in the dark. This writer had never seen such a creature. Later, the following day, this writer called a friend of his and described the moth. He was astounded at what his friend had to tell him. He said, “Have you ever heard of the luna moth?” This writer responded in the negative. “Well,” he said. “The myth is this. The luna moth is supposed to exist only on the moon and only at certain times do they come to earth to show their existence.”

So, if you do not believe that fantasy creatures exist, then keep your eyes open for the lunar moth. This might change your mind if you are not a believer.
